August 2013 saw 611,900 people (electricians, helpers, foremen, apprentices) employed in the field in Electrical Contracting — up 4,500 from the July number.
More importantly, this is the highest single-month figure since August 2009.
Of the 48 months from 8/09 to 8/13, only two sported EC field employee totals over 600K — September 2009 and July 2013.
FOR PERSPECTIVE: The August figures for 2007 and 2008 were, respectively, 747,400 and 737,800.
