Incandescents Fly Off Shelves

NEMA’s light bulb report on Q3 showed a 20% gain in sales of incandescents — despite the facts that

(a) the 100W version isn’t spozed to be sold anymore, under the law

(b) 2014 will see sale of the 60W incandescent banned, under the law. Hey, isn’t it 2013 next year?

(c) a reported DROP in incandescent sales in Q2

EleBlog take: Despite the fact that this blog recently took a shot at NEMA’s economic date, we have a reasonable amount of faith in the organization and grant a relatively LARGER amount of credibility to the org’s statistical operations.

However, the report starts with this sentence

traditional A-line incandescent lamps increased 20.2 percent during Q3 2012 rebounding from a slide of 18.2 percent in Q2 2012.

. . . which is just really, really hard to believe.
