Here's How to be Prepared for Power Outages

Since we just had a surprise hurricane on the East Coast and now wicked winds in the Midwest, combined with storms, I decided to send a reminder to you all about being prepared for power outages. These can strike at any time, weather related or not. It could be ice, snow or high winds that topple power lines, or just a car or truck hitting a power pole to take out the power. Why in fact, I know of a single racoon that got into a substation and took out half of the town's power in seconds. That encounter lasted for about two hours, but was on a nice clear night.
As you can see, being prepared would have made the encounter less stressful and less of a shocker. Here's how to be prepared.
