NEMA’s Motors Shipments Index decreased by 1.7 percent on a quarter to quarter basis during 2013Q4. Year-over-year performance showed a similar trend, decreasing by 1.6 percent. Inflation adjusted shipments of fractional horsepower motors declined by 6.5 percent, while integral HP motors registered a gain of 1.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
On an annual basis, calendar year 2013 showed a decline of 0.6 percent compared to 2012.
