Power outages come at the most inconvenient times. It seems there is never a flashlight in the house when it happens and if you find one, the batteries are surely dead! To make sure that this madness doesn't effect you this year, why not add a backup generator to your Christmas list? There are many types of poratble generators that allow you to string an extension cord for lighting and small appliances in your home. However, you should be thinking much bigger and add a whole-house generator to run your whole home when the power goes off. With the addition of an automatic transfer switch, the generator will start itself up and switch the power from the utility company connection to the whole-house generator in about a minute. This all happens without you ever getting out of your easy chair!
