Pssst: Get Into HANDRAIL LIGHTING . . . now!

It’s gonna be big! From the Courier-Journal of Louisville:

Lighting handrails on the Jeffersonville ramp to the Big Four bicycle and pedestrian bridge could add about $2.5 million to the $6.5 million cost of the ramp, according to a construction estimate from the Indiana Department of Transportation.Electrical work to light the handrails with LEDs will be done after Gohmann Asphalt and Construction Inc. finishes building the ramp.

The article said that building the ramp itself cost $6.5M. So when done, if the article’s numbers are correct (and things don’t get crazy) — the ramp and the handrails and the lighting all together will go for around $9M, of which 28% if for lighting!!!
