One More Data Point for Feb. 1, 2012: Gasoline Prices

“On this day in history, gas(oline) prices have never been higher” — from ZeroHedge. The price is all of 1 penny higher than 2-1-12, as shown below.

While you’re at it, look at the 2013 price vs. the 2004 price (or that of 2009) — and then keep repeating to yourself “there is no inflation.”

Handily, the 2013 price is 105% higher than the 2004 price. Note that gasoline (and diesel) prices feed into the cost of everything (if you buy stuff at a store or a restaurant, or have it delivered — this generally happens by truck — by FedEx or UPS). And higher petroleum prices feed into higher costs for the makers of a lot of things, all the way down to plastic gizmos.
