Utilities Don’t Like Net Metering

They’ll do it if regulators MAKE THEM DO IT……but they really hate net metering. This means the typical electric utility is AGAINST rooftop solar (a homeowner slapping a solar PV installation on his/her roof, selling the power when not needed to the power company, and “running the meter backwards”).

Evidence: This GreentechMedia item on a “civil war” between big (“utilty-scale”) solar and the rooftop variety. It came with the graphic below.
