Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment (EVSE) for residences usually means a charger on a garage wall, but in densely-packed Philadelphia, garages are rare and curbside parking a precious commodity. Thanks to City of Philadelphia’s EV parking ordinance, residents who install curbside EVSE EV charging equipment can carve themselves a personal reserved curbside parking spot — until EV’s become more common, anyway.
This job was typical, and typically challenging for getting power under existing sidewalk pavement to the EVSE for EV curbside parking location at the curb. Thanks to electronic locator gear, we were able to bullseye a pilot hole rammed from inside the basement foundation wall, and install the bollard and charger with zero disturbance of the public walkway.
