Q1 U.S. Construction Spending

Total = $181.7 billion, up 4.7% from one year ago.

Private construction up 9.3%; public down 5.3%.

Total residential = $59.55 billion (46% of the private total). Resi up 17.3% from one year ago.

Nonresidential up 3.3% from a year ago.

Note that ONE MONTH MEANS NOTHING, but the March seasonally adjusted annual rate was actually 1.7% BELOW the February estimate. Again: One month means absolutely nothing.
